Belong

(1/5/26)

Begin With Silence

Take 30 seconds to just pause. Be still. Ask God to open your heart to hear His voice.

Psalm 46:10 (ESV) “Be still, and know that I am God...

1. Wow!

Spend time praising God for who He is... His power, love, creation, and character!

1 John 3:1 (NIV84) How great is the love the Father has lavished on us...

  • God, You welcome us before we ever get our life together.
  • You know our names (and our stories) and you still invite us in.
  • Your love makes space for us.
  • Home begins with You.

2. I'm Sorry!

Be honest with God about your sins and shortcomings. Ask for forgiveness and strength to live a life that honors Him.

Ephesians 2:13 (NASB95) But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near...

  • Forgive us for the times we've lived like an outsider.
  • Forgive the walls we've built instead of relationships.
  • Forgive our fear of being fully known.
  • Teach us to receive belonging as grace.

3. Thank You!

Think about specific things that you are grateful for, big and small. This could include family, friends, your health, or even the air that you breathe.

Psalm 68:6 (NJB) God gives the lonely a home to live in...

  • Thank You for adopting us into Your family.
  • Thank You for a church where we're not invisible.
  • Thank You for people that make us feel at home.
  • Thank You that we belong.

4. Save Them!

Continually entrust the needs of others, and especially their need of salvation, to God. Wait with faith, not frustration, knowing He’s at work even when you can’t see it.

Matthew 11:28 (CSB) Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

  • God, draw in the lonely and overlooked.
  • Welcome those who feel out of place.
  • Heal hearts wounded by rejection.
  • Bring prodigals home.
  • Make our church a place of open arms and carrying shoulders.

5. Deliver Me!

Entrust your needs and pain to God. Ask Him to meet you in your weakness, and remind you that He is enough.

Romans 15:7 (ESV) Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you...

  • Deliver us from insecurity.
  • Help us help others belong.
  • Teach us to love without conditions.
  • Let us live like we're already at home.

Close With Silence

Use the final minute to be quiet, to listen and reflect on your prayer time and what God may be communicating to you. Then close with...

The Lord’s Prayer

(Pray the words that Jesus taught us to pray)

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name;

your kingdom come;

your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.
