OUR MISSION

At Reidsville Christian Church, we exist to look, live, and love like Jesus. We value grace, unity, and family. Regardless of background or the past, is it is our mission to point all people to taking next steps with Jesus. 

LEADERSHIP

While God and the Bible are the ultimate authority for Reidsville Christian Church, there is a leadership structure to keep the day-to-day operations and ministry of the church moving forward and correctly. The leadership of Reidsville has a few key parts. First, elders. Reidsville is first and foremost an elder-led church. The elders provide oversight, vision, and guidance to the church and most importantly the spiritual side of the church. The next level of leadership is the staff. These men and women carry out the day-to-day work of the church. We are elder led, but staff driven.

These godly men lead our church and are established following the model set forth from Acts 6, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Titus 1:5-9.

Staff

  • Shannon Newsome | SENIOR MINISTER

    Shannon is a gifted communicator of the Gospel and loves to see people come to Christ. RCC is blessed by his leadership, humility, and faithfulness. Shannon loves hot dogs, anything pumpkin, 'Survivor', and the Cincinnati Reds. He has served at RCC since 1989. Connect with Shannon at shannon@reidsville.cc. 

  • Keith Shimfessel | WORSHIP MINISTER

    Keith loves leading people to God through music and singing with his vast giftedness. Aside from leading worship, Keith also has a soft spot for 'Kansas', Disney, and a great cup of coffee. Keith has been with RCC since 2007. Connect with Keith at keith@reidsville.cc.

  • Delain akers | office administrator

    Delain is the glue that keeps this place together. Without her, we would be lost. She is organized, a go-getter, and the ambassador to our church family. Delain is a native of Reidsville and loves her family. She has worked at RCC since 2008. Connect with Delain at delain@reidsville.cc.

  • Mindy Goins | Children's Minister

    Mindy is creative, fun, and brings a unique energy to our church and our little ones. She loves spending time with her family. She has served as RCC's Children's Minister since 2018. Connect with Mindy at mindy@reidsville.cc. 

  • Dan Dodson | Associate & Student Minister

    Dan has a passion for the Gospel and seeing broken people experience Jesus, especially the next generation. He loves sports, randomly quoting movies and TV shows, and plays too many video games. He previously served as RCC's Student Minister from 2010-2015 and returned to the role in 2020. Connect with Dan at dan@reidsville.cc.

We believe that God the Father created the world and loves all of His creation. We recognize Him as the Father of all mankind and as such, our ultimate authority. We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and complete Word of God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God in human form, the only Son of God, and our only hope of salvation. He has been given all authority and deserves our recognition as Lord and Savior. We are reconciled to God through Jesus' life, death and resurrection.
